Since the beginning of this year, our city has continuously enhanced the functionality, integration, and uniqueness of the ecological corridor along the Yellow River. Efforts have been focused on promoting the integrated development of cultural tourism and agricultural tourism industries and accelerating the unified achievement of ecological, economic, social, and livelihood benefits along the corridor, fast-tracking toward high-quality development.

Deeply explore the contemporary value embedded in Yellow River culture. Our city accelerates the archaeological investigation and excavation of the Beiyangping and Chengyan sites, as well as the development of cultural and creative products. We have successfully held the anniversary of Laozi’s birth in high quality and created the brand, “Discuss Taoism in Hangu”. We have implemented the renovation and upgrade project of the Yellow Emperor Tripod Cauldron Casting Plateau. Efforts have been made to cultivate “the Yellow Emperor Culture” brand by jointly hosting the Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor Ancestor Worship Ceremony with Xinzheng City. The Jiaogudong Commercial Street in the Hubin District section of the Yellow River Ecological Corridor has been completed and put into operation. The aesthetic appeal of the Dayu Culture Park has been significantly enhanced, and the main structures of the Midstream Pillar Study Center and Exhibition Center of Culture along the Yellow River are set to be completed on schedule.

Vigorously promote the development of the nationally renowned tourist destination project. In the comprehensive development project of Hangu Pass Historical and Cultural Tourism Zone with a total investment of 650 million yuan, the construction of the first phase of the new museum and visitor service center is progressing smoothly. By then, the night scene will vividly reproduce the ancient charm. As of 16th October, the Hangu Pass Historical and Cultural Tourism Zone has welcomed 250,000 primary and secondary school students from all over the country for study tours. In addition, preliminary work is being accelerated for the second phase of the RV camping site and the second phase of the Tuju Wild Luxury camping site along the Yellow River Ecological Corridor.

Popular leisure and social media check-in places have been created. Many attractions located along the Yellow River Ecological Corridor, including the Pink Memory, Lotus Pond, Yellow River Crape Myrtle Garden, Haoji Railway Observation Platform, Stone Carving Park, and Midstream Pillar Garden, are fully open to the public and continue to occupy the top spot on the list of popular social media check-in spots. Six 10,000-mu industrial bases in the Lingbo section of the Yellow River Ecological Corridor have been innovatively built. Efforts are being made toward the integrated development of homestay tourism, agricultural culture study bases, and folk culture villages and building “Twelve Scenic Attractions” along the Yellow River.

Build special agricultural brands in all aspects. Relying on the model of “leading enterprises + cooperatives + farmers”, our city is comprehensively promoting the construction of 10,000-mu bases for special industries such as jujubes, lotus roots, oilseed rape (sunflowers), grapes, persimmons, Sichuan peppers, and weeping forsythia. As of now, 87.5% of administrative villages have formed an industrial structure of “one village, one product”. Special agricultural product brands such as Wangguan Watermelon and Mapo Cream Strawberry have been cultivated successfully. Meanwhile, the Mianchi Sichuan Pepper National Protected Geographical Indication Product has significantly amplified its driving effect. The economic benefits of grape planting in Cheng Village and Dawang Town become increasingly evident, with the annual income of growers rising from 8,500 yuan to over 50,000 yuan. A new “easy farming” mode has been officially launched.

The water economy along the Yellow River has made new progress. Since the beginning of this year, our city has held a number of sports events along the Yellow River, including the 2023 Sanmenxia along the Yellow River International Cycling Invitational, 2023 (China·Sanmenxia) SUP Open and the first “China Shanzhou·Yellow River Cup” SUP Challenge, and 2023 China·Sanmenxia Crossing the Mother River Event, which attracted domestic and foreign tourists and boosted sports consumption by 13.5 million yuan. During this year’s “One Festival and One Fair”, the live broadcasts of the Yellow River water sports in Sanmenxia by national, provincial and municipal media attracted 5.5 million viewers, which effectively promoted the rapid development of the the water economy and leisure economy. It has formed a new high-quality development format where sports promote tourism, tourism enhances culture, and culture, sports, and tourism advance together.
