To let the elderly have a happy and fulfilling old age is not only a family matter of concern for every family, but also a major event related to people's livelihood. In recent years, Sanmenxia has taken promoting the coordinated development of the elderly care business and industry as important starting points for people's well-being. Focusing on the implementation of the national strategy to actively respond to the aging population and the service needs of the elderly group, we established and improved the working mechanism and continuously optimized the service supply,so as to comprehensively expand the market players and accelerate the high-quality development of the elderly care industry. The elderly care should be coordinated with economic and social development. Sanmenxia has established a working mechanism named "City, County and Village Secretaries Focusing on the Elderly", vigorously promoted the construction of the elderly service system, successively issued 14 normative documents such as "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Development of Elderly Service", made "the 14th Five-Year Plan" Elderly Service System and Health Care Industry Development Plan "and" Sanmenxia Special Plan for the Layout of Elderly Service Facilities ". High standard planning and  implementation promoted the elderly care service in Sanmenxia has changed from "deficiency type" to "inclusive one".

Strive for pension project support funds through multiple channels. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, a total of 120 million yuan has been obtained from the central budget to support the construction of Sanmenxia newly-built elderly service center , Xincheng Central Nursing Home in Luthi County, and Home-based Community Elderly Care Service Network in Hubin District and so on. Strive for special debt funds of 490 million yuan to support five pension projects such as Lingbao Nursing Home for the Aged and Mianchi County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Strive to build a healthy elderly tourism destination. Five well-known pension service enterprises inside and outside the province have been introduced to operate community day care centers for the elderly, such as Henan Fanghua and Antai, and seven local pension service enterprises, such as Guokang Pension, Zhongchang Health and Shoukang Pension, have been cultivated and developed to operate street comprehensive pension service centers, which explored and formed a batch of replicable and promotable "Sanmenxia operation model". Relying on the carrier of health tourism, we fully promote the integrated development of health industry, and have initially formed a series of health destinations represented by Gaoyang Mountain, Tanghe Hot Spring, Hangu Pass and Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park. The construction of high-end health care projects such as Kangheng Garden, Lu Zhongzhou Free Health Care Valley, Zhongfang (Mianchi) Smart Health Care Industrial Park is being accelerated.

Comprehensively strengthen market players in industries related to the elderly. A number of "national brand" and "Provincial brand" projects have been implemented in depth to promote the intensive and clustered development of green food industry, such as Lushi National Chinese herbal medicine industry Cluster and Lingbao Apple National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park. Explore new models such as "traditional Chinese medicine plus medicinal food plus health preservation", and promote the expansion of chemical and pharmaceutical terminal products such as Sanovi and Yuxi Pharmaceutical; Foster Suicheng Biological, Xihe Chemical and so on to become specialty BPCs and pharmaceutical intermediates; Accelerate Lechtonge, Guangyu Biology, Fushoutang Pharmaceutical, etc. to expand proprietary Chinese medicines, so as to better help the elderly to enjoy healthy old-age care and improve their quality of life.
