In the early spring, the land of Xiaohan is brimming with vitality, with every corner resembling a landscape painting. Since the Yellow River Protection Law took effect a year ago, Sanmenxia has thoroughly implemented and propelled ecological conservation and high-quality development within the Yellow River basin, launched the “ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand and hundred million” initiative, and carried out the “mountain, water, forest, farmland, grassland, and desert” project at the same time. Eighteen primary tributaries of the Yellow River have become clear, hundreds of miles of ecological corridor along the Yellow River weaves together beautiful nostalgic landscapes, thousands of miles of urban green corridor teems with vitality, tens of thousands of mu of mines have been rejuvenated with greenery, and hundreds of millions of tons of silt have been utilized comprehensively. These efforts have collectively fortified a green barrier to protect the Yellow River.

Keeping in mind “the top priorities of the country”, Sanmenxia has shouldered its responsibilities in the national strategy for the Yellow River. Focusing on strengthening ecological and environmental protection, ensuring the long-term stability and safety of the Yellow River, promoting the conservation and intensive use of water resources, advancing high-quality development in the Yellow River basin, and the protection, inheritance and promotion of Yellow River culture, Sanmenxia concentrates on the strategic positioning of “three cities” and firmly adheres to the principle of “five unities”. Through integrated advancement and project-based implementation, our city has planned and reserved 1,102 projects with a total investment of 830 billion yuan, providing strong support and sufficient momentum for high-quality development.

In the agricultural sector, our city actively integrates into the provincial strategy of “One Area, Two Belts and Three Mountains”. Adopting the “One Mountain, Two Belts” development layout, we have been developing the Funiu Mountain special industry cluster, the rural revitalization demonstration belt along the Yellow River, and the South-to-North Water Diversion green agriculture demonstration belt. Our city has launched the “11335” initiative, focusing on cultivating six advantageous special industry chains including apples, edible mushrooms, medicinal herbs, livestock, forests, fruits, and tobacco, to build a hundred-billion-level industrial cluster and develop Sanmenxia into a city strong in special agriculture.

In the industrial sector, with the goal of building the most influential new city of materials and high-end manufacturing, our city leverages its advantages of resources and basic materials. Baowu Aluminum’s aluminum alloy precision processing project with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year leads the city’s industrial development, three hundred-billion-level industrial clusters in modern gold, new materials, coal, and coal chemical are rapidly taking shape and eight fifty-billion-level clusters in electronic information, biomedicine, and other industries are emerging. With the real economy as the main body, technology and finance as two wings, and new materials and equipment manufacturing as the primary directions, our city accelerates the construction of the modern industrial layout of “trillion-leading, hundred-billion-enhancing, and ten-billion-emerging”.

In the service sector, relying on the unique resource advantages such as white swans and hot springs and the transportation advantages brought by Longhai and Haoji railways, Sanmenxia has implemented a number of major projects in leisure health care, cultural tourism, and modern logistics. Projects such as the Sanmenxia Railway Comprehensive Logistics Park and the Yima Western Henan Coal Reserve Base have been actively promoted to facilitate the large-scale inflow and outflow of bulk commodities and build a logistics base for bulk commodities in the central western region.

In terms of the protection, inheritance and promotion of Yellow River culture, our city deeply implements the “1+3+4” integrated development project for culture and tourism. This initiative focuses on one cultural landmark - the Yangshao Culture Heritage Conservation Area, accelerates the development of three key cultural IPs: the Hangu Pass Historical and Cultural Tourism Area, the Sanmenxia Dam Yellow River Cultural Tourism Area, and the Shanzhou Silo Cave Intangible Cultural Heritage Tourism Area and promotes comprehensive tourism in Mianchi, Yima, Lingbao, Lushi, and the central urban area, to fully showcase the charm of Yellow River culture and create a spiritual landmark of cultural confidence for the Chinese nation.

Amid the greenery of spring, the great river presents a fresh vista. Sanmenxia, the swan city, born by the river, thriving for the river and beautiful alongside the river, is resolutely advancing towards its goals of becoming the ecological protection and high-quality development demonstration city in the Yellow River basin, a leading city in Yellow River culture innovation, and a modern interprovincial regional center city.
