Recently, Sanmenxia announced the seventh batch of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage. 17 projects from four different categories of intangible cultural heritage including folk literature, traditional art, traditional craftsmanship, and traditional medicine are on the list.

According to information, the selected project in the category of folk literature is the legend of the platform of the king of Han; the selected projects in the category of traditional art are metal and stone bogu painting, paper cutting, and dough sculpture; ten projects have been selected in the category of traditional craftsmanship, which are the craft of making monochord, the craft of making Guo State mutton soup, the craft of making blue clip valerian, the craft of making Guqin, Shanzhou clay sculpture, the craft of making frozen meat, the craft of making the yeast bun, the craft of making Maohe liquor, the craft of making Guanpo tofu, and the craft of making sweet potato vermicelli; the selected projects in the category of traditional medicine are the rheumatic disorder therapy of using medicinal liquor and the plum blossom acupuncture needle to extract qi, the craft of making Lishi black herbal plaster and Shangguan Zhenfeng traditional herbal plaster.

Our city requires all county (city, district) governments and relevant departments should adhere to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Henan Provincial Regulations on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. They should conscientiously implement the guiding principle of giving priority to both preservation and restoration, and pursuing sound utilization and development, adhere to the scientific protection concept, and solidly carry out the protection, inheritance, management, and utilization of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage, effectively enhance the systematic protection level of intangible cultural heritage in the whole city, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
