On April 14th , the official website of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the list of the second batch of national civilized tourism demonstration units, and the Sanmenxia Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park was listed.

This selection for national civilized tourism demonstration units is for voluntary declaration, and after review and recommendation of provincial cultural and tourism administrative departments, the national tourism standardization Technical Committee made final assessment, 66 declaration units were identified to meet the standards for national civilized tourism demonstration unit, Henan has a total of two units on the list, Swan Lake National urban Wetland Park among them.

Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park covers a total area of more than 8850 mu, including land area of more than 6150 mu, water surface, mudflat of more than 2700 mu. Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park mainly involves Qinglong Lake Whooper Swan viewing area, Canglong Lake Whooper Swan viewing area, Zhougong Island, Zhaogong Island, wetland garden, rock garden, parent-child amusement park, ecological  popular science long corridor and other eight featured attractions.

Based on protecting the original appearance of the Yellow River Wetland, this park takes the characteristic resources of Whooper Swans as the brand, takes Zhougong Island and Zhaogong Island as the center, takes the Yellow River, Qinglong Lake and Canglong Lake as the main body, and sets a series of projects such as wetland vegetation restoration, tourism and science popularization education supporting facilities construction. It is a comprehensive eco-tourism attraction integrating wetland ecological protection, tourism and leisure, cultural display, and sightseeing and popular science.

From October to March every year, thousands of whooper swans from Siberia gather in the wide quiet lake of the scenic spot to spend the winter. They are integrated with the surrounding islands and the waters of the Yellow River, which formed a magnificent picture. Therefore, Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park is also named.

 Sanmenxia Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park was awarded the national AAAA level scenic spot in 2010, which has won the titles of National Tourism System Advanced Collective, the National Youth Model Unit Award, the National Annual Charming Ecological Attraction, Henan Province Civilized Scenic Spot, Henan Province Youth Model Unit Award, Henan Province Safe Scenic Spot, Henan Province Tourism Standardization Pilot Unit, Henan Province Four Diamond Level Smart Scenic Spot, Henan Province Excellent Science Education Base, Henan Province Top Ten Popular Science Education Base, the Hometown of Chinese Photography and Sanmenxia Photography Creation Research Base and other titles.
