On March 1st, the reporter learned from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission that from January to February, the city’s industrial production was stable and orderly, the situation of spring plowing and management was stable, the trend of consumption recovery was obvious, market entities resumed growth, employment and people’s livelihood remained stable, and the city’s overall economic operation showed a moderate and steady start, strong resilience and great growth potential.

Industrial production maintained stable and orderly. In terms of enterprise production and operation, among the 43 key industrial enterprises monitored by the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Department, the total industrial output value in January was 3.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%, and a total profit of 80 million yuan was achieved. From the perspective of the resumption of work and production after the holiday, as of now, 490 of 544 industrial enterprises in Sanmenxia have resumed work. The resumption rate has reached 90.1%, the employee arrival rate has reached 96.6%, and the enterprise production rate has stabilized at more than 90%. 

Agricultural production maintained stable. The city’s autumn wheat planting area was 1.1435 million mu, and the seedling situation was significantly better than that of the previous year. The planned planting area of spring sowing is 1.012 million mu, including 431,000 mu of food crops and 581,000 mu of economic crops such as tobacco leaves and vegetables. Up to now, 720,000 mu of land has been prepared for spring sowing. Fruits, edible fungi, Chinese medicine, husbandry and other characteristic industries are planted in an orderly manner. As of the end of February, the production of meat, poultry, eggs, and milk has reached 36,000 tons.

The trend of consumption recovery was obvious. In terms of commerce and trade, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce formulated “the implementation plan for the 2023 New Year consumption promotion activities in Sanmenxia”. Several activities were launched including car consumption and Meituan consumption coupons to encourage citizens to consume food and beverages and purchase goods in supermarkets. Meanwhile, more than 50 companies were organized to participate in the 2023 online Lunar New Year’s Shopping Festival, achieving sales of more than 20 million yuan on multiple platforms and more than 100,000 orders issued. In terms of tourism, from January to February, Sanmenxia received a total of 2.1234 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 49.76%. The comprehensive tourism revenue reached 388 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52.31%. The income of star-rated hotels was 29.237 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%.

Market entities resumed growth. Since the beginning of this year, there have been 9,452 newly registered market entities of various types in Sanmenxia, a year-on-year increase of 219.22%. Among them, there were 1,241 enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 20.25%; 8,161 individually owned businesses, a year-on-year increase of 328.4%; 50 farm cooperatives, a year-on-year increase of 108.33%. As of now, there are 220,643 market entities of various types in Sanmenxia, a year-on-year increase of 26.36%.

Employment and people’s livelihood remained stable. Sanmenxia created 6,369 new jobs in its urban area and 1,556 unemployed people found new jobs, completing 17.79% and 13.64% of the annual targets respectively. 652 people participated in the entrepreneurship training, completing 18.62% of the annual target task. The employment scale has increased significantly compared with the same period last year, and the overall employment situation remained stable.
