The Launch Ceremony of the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics Experimental Was Held

On November 19th, the launch ceremony of the Sanmenxia research center of the State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering - the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics was held in Huanchi Village, Yangping Town, Lingbao. He Manchao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, He Yaling, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Zongliang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xu Shilang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ding Tongmin, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee and head of the Department of Organization, and Liu Heng, deputy commander of the Sanmenxia Military Division, attended the launch ceremony.

At the launch ceremony, Yang Xiaojie, secretary general of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, read the Reply on the Establishment of the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics. He Manchao and Ding Tongmin jointly launched the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics.

He Manchao pointed out in his speech that the establishment of the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics is to respond to the major requirements of the country to accelerate the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and better combine the development of science and technology as primary productive forces, the cultivation of talents as the primary resource, and the improvement of innovation as the primary force driving development together. It can concentrate on breaking through a number of key common technical problems, continuously broaden the transformation path of scientific research achievements, promote the transformation of more scientific research achievements into real productivity, and provide surging impetus for high-quality economic and social development.

The Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics mainly relies on the promotion and application of NPR new technologies, new materials, new processes, new methods and other innovative achievements proposed by He Manchao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in the Sanmenxia, Henan Province and even the whole country. It will undertake the establishment of annual scientific research projects and the technical guidance of innovative research and development ideas, and be responsible for the application of provincial, industrial and national scientific research projects. The base is well-equipped, with rich geological types of test caverns and complete monitoring and data acquisition equipment. At present, multiple test sites such as the comprehensive test site for slope engineering and similar ratio physical model test system for deep underground engineering have been built, with perfect deep rock mechanics field test conditions.

The expert group also visited the 960 anti-explosion test site of the Experimental Base for Deep Rock Mechanics, and went to Nenghuan (Sanmenxia) International New Materials Co., Ltd. to investigate the NPR new material and new technology industry projects.
