On October 8th , the reporter learned from Sanmenxia Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that, with the approval of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Henan Province, Shanzhou Silo-cave in Sanmenxia was recognized as one of the first seven outstanding agricultural cultural heritages in Henan Province.

The excellent agricultural cultural heritage of Henan Province refers to the tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage created, inherited and accumulated in the long-term agricultural production and life in Henan Province with a certain number of years, a certain scale, and a certain economic, social, ecological and cultural protection value. It includes production 

experience, life experience, technology, traditional buildings, tools and implements, species and products, traditional customs, cultural activities, as well as the excellent ideas, humanistic spirits and moral norms and so on.

As one of the four unique ancient residential buildings in China and even in the world, Sanmenxia Shanzhou Silo-cave is a unique residential building form in western Henan.  "No one can be seen when entering the village, and no villages can be seen when trees can be seen" is a true portrayal of the ancient village under the horizon, and the living fossils in the history of residential houses. It is not only a vivid expression to awaken the historical memory of more than 6000 years of cave dwelling, but also a charm display of Sanmenxia's long-standing agricultural civilization. It contains rich cultural, historical and scientific values and embodies the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient working people. Today, the existing most complete and oldest silo-cave has a history of more than 300 years.

 Sanmenxia Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Shanzhou District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Shanzhou Silo-cave Scenic Area have actively completed the application of this excellent agricultural cultural heritage. Sanmenxia Shanzhou Silo-cave has been approved as the first batch of excellent agricultural cultural heritage in Henan Province, which will strongly promote the inheritance and protection of silo-cave, promote the inheritance, utilization and sustainable development of agricultural cultural heritage in Sanmenxia, so as to combine rural tourism with ancient agricultural civilization to build "beautiful economy", and help Sanmenxia comprehensively revitalize its countryside.
