At present, strategic emerging industries have gradually become a powerful engine for the high-quality economic development, foundation consolidation and efficiency increase and industrial transformation and innovative upgrading in Sanmenxia.

The fundamentals continue to expand. In terms of number, in 2021, the number of strategic emerging industries reached 83, an increase of 21 compared with 2016; in terms of proportion, in 2021, the city’s strategic emerging industries accounted for 12.8%, which was 3.6 times that of 2016. The new material industry has been developing and expanding. The new material industry dominated by the copper industry is one of the key industries in Sanmenxia. Relying on the advantages of associated refined copper of gold smelting, Huaxin Copper Foil, Baoxin Electronics, Jinyuan Zhaohui Copper and other enterprises have developed rapidly. In 2021, the city’s new material industry grew by 31.4% year-on-year, which was 20.5 percentage points higher than that of the industry, driving the city’s industrial growth by 2.0 percentage points.
