Recently, Sanmenxia Municipal Bureau of Statistics conducted a survey of independent innovation activities among the key enterprises in Sanmenxia so as to know about the innovation development of enterprises, the policy environment for innovation and the attention that entrepreneurs attach to innovation,  The survey shows that the comprehensive innovation capability of enterprises in Sanmenxia has been steadily improved, and entrepreneurs attach great importance to independent innovation and the effects of various policies on innovation have been continuously highlighted. 

Among the 977 key enterprises involved in the survey, 288 enterprises successfully achieved innovation, accounting for 29.5% of total surveyed key enterprises. In terms of different industries, 173 industrial enterprises above designated size in Sanmenxia carried out innovation activities, accounting for 43.6% of all industrial enterprises above designated size. Among them, 166 enterprises successfully achieved innovation, accounting for 41.8% of all industrial enterprises above designated size, which increased  2% than that of the previous year; 16 enterprises have successfully achieved innovation, accounting for 28.57% of the surveyed 56 construction enterprises, which increased 3.1% than that of previous year; 106 enterprises in the service industry have successfully achieved innovation, accounting for 20.23% of the number of service enterprises in the survey, which decreased 2.7 % than that of previous year. 

Entrepreneurs' awareness directly affects the enterprise innovation activities. It is found in survey that the innovation awareness of entrepreneurs in industrial and service industry has been greatly strengthened. From the perspective of entrepreneurs’ overall understanding of innovation, 305 entrepreneurs believe that innovation plays an important role in the survival and development of enterprises, accounting for 32.1% of all surveyed entrepreneurs, which increased 3.2% than that of previous year. Among them, industrial enterprises accounted for 36%, construction enterprises accounted for 19.6%, and service enterprises accounted for 30.5%. The statistics fully shows that more and more entrepreneurs realize the importance of innovation to the long-term development of enterprises, and entrepreneurs' awareness of the importance of independent innovation continues to increase, all these provide necessary supports and guarantees for the implementation of enterprise innovation activities and process management. 

Innovation incentive measures are effective. Many enterprises have taken a great many effective measures and paid much more attention to the cultivation and management of talents in order to stimulate the enthusiasm of employees for innovation, . From the evaluation of the effects of incentive measures, 44.8% of the entrepreneurs believe that increasing wages or bonuses is a good drive to promote the innovation, and 38.9% of the entrepreneurs think that job adjustment or promotion is an excellent innovation incentive measures, 31.6% of entrepreneurs believe that more training or further education opportunities should be provided to employees. Enterprises that take incentive measures such as equity or options and car housing account for 9.4% and 12.5% respectively. At present, entrepreneurs in Sanmenxia have a low sense of identification with these two incentive measures.
