On June 30th, the “Photo Exhibition of Ecological Construction Achievements” and “Photo Exhibition of Ancient and Famous Trees” celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC were held in the Dazhang Square in the urban area and Houdi Village, an urban-rural integration demonstration area simultaneously. Municipal leaders including Xu Shenggao, Gao Yongrui, Luo Yufeng and Ren Xiaoyun, secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress visited the photography exhibition. 

The photography exhibition was held by the Municipal Forestry Bureau, displaying 100 pictures of city birds “one red and one white” (50 pictures of the golden pheasant and 50 pictures of the white swan), 100 pictures of other rare birds, and 100 pictures of protected ancient and famous trees. 

In recent years, Sanmenxia has thoroughly implemented Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization, practiced the theory of “two mountains”, and promoted the strategy of “strengthening the city with ecology”. The ecological environment has been significantly improved. The forest coverage rate of Sanmenxia is 50.72%, ranking first in the province. The Yellow River wetland reserve in our city is 206 kilometers long, accounting for 68% of that in Henan province. The number of bird species in Sanmenxia has increased from 175 in the past to 315. The number of wintering white swans in the Yellow River Reservoir area of Sanmenxia reached 15,395, making it the largest core habitat of white swans in the country. There are 1194 ancient and famous trees and 2 large groups of ancient trees Sanmenxia.
