The opening ceremony of Yuanqu-Mianchi Expressway was held at the Yellow River Bridge in South Village, Mianchi County on June 30th. Song Huadong, deputy director of the Henan Provincial Department of Transportation, Fan Fuzhong, member of the Standing Committee of the Sanmenxia Municipal Committee and executive deputy mayor, Chen Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the Yuncheng Committee and executive deputy mayor, and Wu Weidong, vice president of Greenland Group and president of Greenland Infrastructure, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Wan Zhanwei, vice mayor, presided over the ceremony. 

Song Huadong pointed out that this year is the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, and it’s also the year when the construction of the “13445 Project” of the expressway in Henan province fully began. The opening of the Yuanqu-Mianchi Expressway has improved the expressway network in western Henan, and is of great significance to promoting the coordinated economic development of the Henan-Shanxi-Shaanxi Yellow River Golden Triangle region and promoting regional cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation. 

Fan Fuzhong pointed out that the Yuanqu-Mianchi Expressway is the first expressway opened to traffic in Sanmenxia this year, and it’s an important channel for the province’s transportation plan of “being connected both inside and outside”. The smooth opening of the project is of great practical significance for strengthening the regional economic cooperation between Sanmenxia and Yuncheng, integrating the development of energy, mineral resources and cultural tourism resources, and improving the living standards of the people along the route. Taking this opportunity, Sanmenxia will continuously strengthen development awareness, improve expressway construction service capabilities, and build the Yuanqu-Mianchi Expressway into an economic road, a road of change, a road of people’s livelihood and a road of happiness that truly benefits people, in order to make unremitting efforts to achieve high-quality economic and social development, and build a strong inter-provincial regional central city. 

It’s reported that the Yuanqu-Mianchi Expressway is a key construction project in Henan and Shanxi provinces. The project starts from Yuanqu County in Shanxi Province in the north and ends in Mianchi County in Henan Province in the south. The total length of the route is about 58.18 kilometers and the total investment is about 7 billion yuan.
