On September 7th , the export wooden packaging fumigation qualification applied by Sanmenxia Inspection and Quarantine Pilot Zone Investment and Construction Co., Ltd. was officially approved by Zhengzhou Customs, becoming the first export wooden packaging fumigation enterprise in our province, filling the blank of wooden packaging fumigation enterprise in Henan province.

In recent years, with the continuous development of the Sanmenxia’s export-oriented economy, the demand for wooden packaging for export goods has increased. Because it is manufactured with wooden as raw materials, wooden packaging is also an important carrier and transmission medium for forest pests in international trade. Once the invasion of foreign species occurs, it will inevitably cause great harm to ecological safety, forestry safety and people’s lives and health. 

According to Administrative Measures for the Quarantine and Treatment of Wooden Packaging of Exported Goods, the wooden packaging of exported goods shall be subject to harm-elimination treatment and a special IPPC logo shall be applied. (“International Plant Protection Convention”, referred to as IPPC. It is a convention used to protect plant species and prevent the spread of pests of plants and plant products internationally. The IPPC logo indicates the wooden packaging complies with the international standards for quarantine measures for wooden packaging and is an international passport for wooden packaging.) Fumigation treatment is one of the most common harm-elimination methods of wooden packaging. 

Sanmenxia Customs combined with the activities of “Ten Thousand People Help Ten Thousand Enterprises” to guide enterprises to organize data and improve hardware facilities. On the basis of full research, one enterprise, one policy and special affairs are handled. It accepts orders on the same day and completes the assessment in three days. The certificate is issued within five days, and the approval items that used to be completed in one month can now be completed in five days. Foreign trade companies no longer need to purchase wooden packaging from other places, which effectively reduces companys’ operating costs and further optimizes Sanmenxia’s foreign trade business environment.
