Recently, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the “Report on the Pilot Status of the Roof Distributed Photovoltaic Development of the Entire County (city, district) in Henan Province” and “Henan Province’s Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of Rooftop Photovoltaic Power Generation”. There are 66 counties (cities, districts) in the province meeting the requirements of the declaration, and the planned construction scale is about 15 million kilowatts. 

Sanmenxia boasts rich wind power and photovoltaic resources and has advantages and foundation for the construction of large-scale clean energy bases. Thanks to the landscape as well as natural conditions such as climate and light, the environment for the development of green energy is very superior. In recent years, Sanmenxia has seized opportunities for new energy development and vigorously promoted the implementation of wind power and photovoltaic power generation projects. At present, Sanmenxia’s installed wind power generation capacity is 1.38 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation capacity is 340,000 kilowatts, and hydropower generation capacity is 450,000 kilowatts. New energy accounts for 32% of Sanmenxia’s installed power generation capacity, making it the largest wind power base in Henan Province.

Carrying out the entire county (city, district) rooftop distributed photovoltaic development can benefit the integration of resources, the realization of intensive development, the reduction of the peak power load, the save and optimization of the distribution power grid investment, and the guidance of the residents’ green energy consumption. It’s an important measure to peak carbon dioxide emissions, achieve carbon neutrality and rural revitalization.
