Since the beginning of 2021, Sanmenxia has adhered to the principle of "project is king", consolidating the foundation for development, optimizing the industrial structure, strengthening innovation drive so as to further improve the high-quality development.

In 2021, Sanmenxia has planned 4,836 major projects during the "14th Five-Year Plan", with a total investment of 2.38 trillion yuan. The number of projects and the amount of investment are 3 times and 2 times seperately than that of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period; There are 354 projects listed as provincial and municipal key projects with a total investment of 249 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 86 billion yuan, which increased 62%, 35%, and 39% respectively than those in 2019; 963 major ecological protection projects in the Yellow River Basin were planned with a total investment of 691.3 billion yuan, among them, there are 303 improving projects entitled as“"Henan 982 Project” with a total investment of 150.6 billion yuan, and 125 rural revitalization projects with a total investment of 59.2 billion yuan. The foundation for transformation and development is more stable and the stamina is much greater.

Sanmenxia has implemented three key projects to intensively start construction, deeply carried out the "Ten Thousands of People Help Ten Thousands of Enterprises" activities, revitalized 11 companies including Hengkang Aluminum Limited Company, and solved 42 key project problems including Huisheng Copper Limited Company; What’s more,  Sanmenxia strived for special subsidy funds of 240 million yuan for ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin, accounting for more than one-third of the province's total; and obtained local government special debt of 3.499 billion yuan for the construction of 43 projects, all the service guarantees have achieved remarkable results, and the progress of projects under construction has been significantly accelerated.

In the first half of the year, 71 provincial key projects completed investment of 43.2 billion yuan, accounting for 78% of the annual target; 354 municipal key projects completed investment of 80.4 billion yuan, accounting for 88% of the annual target; 211 "Three Major Renovation" projects completed investment 9.1 billion yuan, accounting for 61% of the annual target; the number of projects of joint review and approval is 2006 , accounting for 94% of the annual target, the project construction is much better than previous years, which is beyond expectation. At the same time, 8 projects were included in the "Four Lists" of the provincial emerging industrial chain, 19 projects were included in the provincial key advanced manufacturing list, and 904 projects were included in the Sanmenxia’s "14th Five-Year Plan" manufacturing high-quality development project database; Sanmenxia successfully created 3 national green factories, 5 provincial smart factories, 3 green factories, and 6 smart workshops; and create 1 national modern agricultural industrial park and 2 provincial industrial parks, and build 8 municipal advantageous characteristic industrial clusters and pastoral complexes, all those make the high-quality development continue to upgrade.

In the first six months of 2021, Sanmenxia’s GDP reached 73.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%, which was 0.1 and 2.6 percentage points higher than the national and provincial growth rates, ranking second in Henan; the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 15.7%, which was 5.2 percentage points higher than the national growth rate; the service industry’s share of GDP increased to 44%; the manufacturing industry’s added value increased by 15.7% year-on-year, accounting for 71% of Sanmenxia’s industries above designated size, which drived industrial growth by 11 percentage points; The added value of Sanmenxia’s high-tech industries, high-growth manufacturing and strategic emerging industries increased respectively by 18.9%, 9.6%, and 27.3% year-on-year. The industrial structure has become more optimized, and new momentum continues to increase.
