On June 10th, the main forum of the Fifth Laozi Culture Forum was held. Well-known experts and scholars got together to conduct on-site interpretation and exchanges on Laozi culture. Fang Qixiong, Deputy Minister of Henan Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department and Director of Henan Provincial Government Information Office, Wang Zaiwen, Deputy Secretary of Sanmenxia Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC, and Niu Lanying, Member of the Standing Committee of Sanmenxia Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department attended the  forum. Approximately 300 researchers and funs who studied "Tao Te Ching"from all over the China participated in the forum.

"Laozi Culture·Chinese Philosophy·Eastern Wisdom" is the theme of this forum . Chen Guying, Chair Professor of Humanities in Department of Philosoph of Peking University, Editor-in-Chief of "Taoist Cultural Studies"; Wang Zhongjiang, Professor of Peking University,Chairman of National Laozi Studies Research Association, Dean of the School of Philosophy (Laozi College) in Zhengzhou University; Zhan Shichuang, Professor of Sichuan University and Dean of the Laozi Research Institute of Sichuan University; Zheng Kai, Professor of the Department of Philosophy of Peking University, and Xu Jingsheng, Professor of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine delivered keynote speeches respectively at the forum.

Chen Guying used "Laozi: The Pioneer of Chinese Philosophy" as the title and conducted a thorough analysis on the categories of Laozi's "being" and "nothing"ideas from the perspective of ontology, which reinterpreted Laozi's ethical thoughts, he believed that Laozi’s philosophical thinking had a pioneering effect on ancient Chinese philosophy. Wang Zhongjiang made a speech entitled "Lao Zi's Theory and "Jin Renming(one works made by Yellow Emperor in China)" and "Huang Di Yan(one works recorded what Yellow Emperor said)"", he analyzed and explained the relationship between Lao Zi's doctrine and "Jin Renming" and "Huang Di Yan" from the aspects of "humility", "temperance" , "change"and so on. Zhan Shichuang profoundly illustrated  the "Tao De Jing" and even the entire Taoist cultural value system with the five-character mantra of "Tao, Virtue, Kindness, Quietness and Peace" in his speech on "The Origin, Purport and Cultural Preservation of "Tao De Jing Chant"", Zhan Shi Chuan.

 Zheng Kai made a speech entitled "The World Historical Significance of Lao Zi's Philosophy", and he expounded the significance of Lao Zi's philosophy from the modernity of Taoist philosophy. Xu Jingsheng took "Looking at Laozi and Chinese and Western Culture from the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" as the title and had "Huangdi's Internal Classic" as a clue to explore the profound influence of Taoism represented by Laozi on the formation of TCM theory.

This forum has a great significance for telling Chinese stories, contributing Chinese wisdom, and promoting China’s excellent traditional culture by fully digging out the ideological essence and  values contained in Laozi’s culture.
