On June 10th, the Dean Forum on School of Materials and Research Institutes of Chinese Copper-related Universities was successfully held in Sanmenxia. Huang Chongqi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech, and He Jilin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the forum and delivered a speech,too.

This year's Dean Forum invites hundreds of top scholars and industry leaders, including academicians of materials circles, presidents of copper-related universities, deans of materials schools, deans of research institutes, and copper processing entrepreneurs.

He Jilin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said in his speech that copper-based alloys are the key pillar materials in high-tech fields such as integrated circuits, network communications, aerospace, marine engineering, and precision instruments. The "One Belt One Road" Initiative, the Strategy of a Strong Manufacturing Country, the Development of Strategic Emerging Endustries and the Layout of New Infrastructure provide important opportunities for the development of copper-based alloys. Practitioners in the copper processing industry must earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Academician Conference of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the 10th National Congress of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, all the work should be done to strengthen cooperation and collaborative innovation in order to promote the deep integration of industry, university, research and application, and accelerate the construction of building a strong country through science and technology and achieve high-level technological self-reliance.

Huang Chongqi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, made a theme report entitled "China's High-Temperature Superconducting Cables and Industrialization Development", which introduced the development status, future development trends and technological innovation directions of superconducting cables. He pointed out that superconducting cables made of copper-based alloys could effectively reduce carbon emissions and provide a major opportunity for our country to build a new development pattern in which domestic and international double cycles promote each other and achieve leapfrog development.

At the meeting, eight experts exchanged ideas on the new preparation process and multi-scenario application of copper-based materials. The guests at the meeting used copper processing technology as the warp and focused on cutting-edge copper-based alloy preparation technology; They also used the copper industry trade as the weft to exchange the latest copper market trend information, to discuss and promote the transformation of copper intensive processing scientific and technological achievements, and finally promoted practical cooperation and exploration in the copper industry in order to upgrade our country's copper processing industry in the new era.

The Dean’s Forum which was held in the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" has broadened our horizons to vigorously develop the copper deep processing industry and extend the copper-based material industrial chain for Sanmenxia’s new development, and it also helps Sanmenxia to implement new development concepts and focuses on the direction of key national and provincial strategic emerging industries; this forum broadens the thinking to give full play to the advantages of resources and location and promotes the high-end and clustering development of the copper-based new material industry; it builds a new development pattern for Sanmenxia, and fully implements the high-quality development of the copper industry- the three-year action plan.
