On December 30th , the reporter learned from Sanmenxia Municipal Cultural and Tourism Department that the China Central Radio and Television Station released the top ten domestic archaeological news and the top ten international archaeological news in 2020. Among them, Sanmenxia City’s "Yangshao Village Site Launched the Fourth Archaeological Excavation" was selected into “Top Ten Archaeological News in China in 2020”. A total of two archaeological projects in Henan Province were selected, and the other was "Release of Major Archaeological Achievements of "Heluo Ancient Country in Gongyi of Henan".

 It is understood that the Yangshao Village site launched the fourth archaeological excavation, aiming to use new technology to find new evidence of the Yellow River culture and the civilization process of the Central Plains. On August 22nd this year, the fourth archaeological excavation of the Yangshao Village site in Mianchi County initiated , and it has been 40 years since the last excavation. This excavation will realize the combination of digitalization, multi-discipline and multi-technology, and reflect the progress of excavation and archaeology in the new era. The archaeological excavation of the southern core area of the Yangshao Village Site and the north-central trenches will be completed, and the  systematic archaeological investigation in Jianhe River Basin will be carried out in stages. Materials about annual excavations and archaeological survey data will be organized. These excavations and researches have important academic significance and value for in-depth exploration of the value of the Yellow River culture era and exploration of the prehistoric civilization process in the Central Plains.

Experts in the industry believe that the fourth archaeological excavation at the Yangshao Village Site has important commemorative significance and great academic research value,  which will provide new archaeological data for the study of the Yellow River culture and the process of Chinese civilization, all these will provide a strong foundation for further building cultural confidence.
