In order to normalise the prevention and control of COVID-19 in autumn & winter and improve the emergency response capacity of our city, on October 26, the Second People’s Hospital of Sanmenxia Central Hospital held a practical exercise on the treatment of COVID-19. Deputy secretary of CPC municipal committee and mayor An Wei watched the drill and made on-site comments. Qing Zhiying, vice mayor, Guo Zhongyi, secretary general and other members of the municipal party committee also watched the exercise.

This drill simulated a case of a fever patient and practiced temperature detection, pre-triage, consultation of fever patients, examination, diagnosis, transfer, disinfection and isolation, information reporting, epidemic investigation and other processes one by one.

In his comments, An Wei pointed out that the whole exercise was conducted tensely and orderly, with rigorous links, quick standard response and efficient disposal, which achieved the purpose of checking and filling the gaps and improving the level. This practice should be taken as an opportunity to further perfect the epidemic emergency plan, to refine the work. The practice should be adopted as one of the important ways in the epidemic prevention and control work so as to improve the organization and coordination of the prevention and control of epidemic diseases and emergency response ability, to avoid the careless mistake for sure, by achieving “early detection, early reporting, early quarantine and early treatment”. Hospitals are the main front for epidemic prevention and control, and medical workers are the vanguard of epidemic prevention and control. We hope that medical workers will maintain their honor, make persistent efforts, carefully organize and cooperate with each other, effectively and orderly advance the epidemic prevention and control work, and make new contributions to ensure the life, health and safety of the city’s people and overall social stability.

An Wei stressed that the epidemic has not yet been effectively controlled globally, and the recent cluster outbreaks in some parts of China, coupled with the high incidence of respiratory infections in autumn and winter, great challenges still exist in epidemic prevention and control work. In particular, we should embark on a solid job in epidemic prevention and control in autumn and winter, firmly consolidate the achievements of epidemic prevention and control, and try our best to ensure the safety and health of the people.

Afterwards, An Wei inspected the construction of the epidemic prevention and treatment system of Sanmenxia City Central Hospital and the construction of Sanmenxia City Infectious Disease Hospital. At the construction site of Sanmenxia Infectious Disease Hospital project, An Wei supervised the construction progress of the project, coordinated and solved the difficulties and problems encountered in the process of project promotion, and emphasized the need to strengthen coordination and cooperation, accelerate the construction progress, and ensure the completion and operation of the hospital as scheduled.
