The official from the China Photographers Association introduced that the basic framework of this year’s “One Festival and One Exhibition” is the same as that of previous China Photography Festivals, including the five major sections of the Golden Statue Award presentation, exhibition clusters, academic activities, special activities, and creation, highlighting the fusion of professionalism and extensiveness. “As for the basic framework, we also explore new ideas and methods to enhance the connotation and value of the festival.”

Exhibitions have always been the highlight of photography festivals. This year’s “One Festival and One Exhibition” focuses on the center and serves the overall situation, demonstrating the value and power of photos.

With the themes of poverty alleviation, anti-epidemic, etc., “Not One Less-National Poverty Alleviation Photography Exhibition” uses photography to record the great move in the human’s history of poverty reduction, depicting the vivid details of people-centered development of contemporary China and showing the great results achieved during the process of the Communist Party leading people to live a happy life.

From the perspective of documentary, the “Witness·Imaging-Anti-epidemic Photography Exhibition” reproduces the images of fighting against the epidemic since the outbreak of the COVID-19, focusing on Wuhan and radiating the whole country. The images, scenes and countless details restore the unforgettable memory of China’s fight against the COVID-19, hitting the mind directly with full affection.

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the People’s Volunteer Army’s fight abroad to resist the US aggression and aid Korea, the “War Photography and Love for the Country- Zhang Chongxiu’s Photography Exhibition Against the US Aggression and Aid Korea” carefully sorted out 39 battlefield photographs and will debut in the China Photography Festival. The 93-year-old Zhang Chongxiu will also come in person. He lives with his family in Hefei, Anhui Province. 70 years ago, he picked up the camera and engaged in photography, switching his role from a soldier with a gun. These dual identities give his works an unparalleled sense of presence.

In addition, there are about 25 brand exhibitions, special topics exhibitions, and special exhibitions at the “One Festival and One Exhibition”. More than 4,000 works by more than 1,100 photographers are shared at the photography festival. Among them, with the advent of the 5G era, this year’s photography festival launched the “WeChat Photography Moment” short video exhibition.

The Golden Statue Award is the highest national individual achievement award in the field of photography jointly sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Photographers Association, which aims at commending and rewarding photographers with both professional excellence and moral integrity who have made outstanding contributions to the prosperous development of photography or made major achievements. 

Since 1989, the Golden Statue Award for China Photography has been successfully held 12 times, and a total of 426 people have won this honor, which has played a very active role in promoting the prosperous development of photography. As the most important brand event of the China Photographers Association and the most important content of the festival, the famous artist Wang Qingsong is invited to be responsible for the curation of the art and commercial works at the Golden Statue Award to give the visitors a different impression from cross-border perspectives.

Besides, “the Golden Statue Award Face-to-face” exchange project will invite all winners to share their creation insights and experience on the same stage for the first time. At the same time, the organization committee will also open a “Golden Statue Live Room” to interact with photography lovers across the country online.
