On June 10, the Sanmenxia Municipal Government and Henan Unicom signed a 5G strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly promote the construction of a new type of smart city in Sanmenxia and the development of a new 5G digital economy. Wei Haibo, party secretary and general manager of Henan Unicom, and Wang Zhi, a member of party committee and deputy general manager, attended the signing ceremony.

Our city expressed gratitude to Henan Unicom for its contributions to Sanmenxia in the construction of all-optical network cities, universal telecommunications service, poverty alleviation, epidemic prevention and control, communication guarantee for major events, and promotion of economic and social informatization in recent years. The municipal government attaches great importance to 5G network construction and industrial development, and will provide strong support in coordinating 5G construction planning, reducing costs, optimizing the environment, industrial development and so on. Besides, it will accelerate the construction of industrial Internet, car networking, the smart city, smart agriculture, and smart healthcare. Promoting industrial transformation and upgrading is also on the plan.

Wang Zhi pointed out in his speech that Henan Unicom had always attached importance to and actively participated in the economic and social informatization construction of Sanmenxia City. He also noted that Henan Unicom would increase funding and policy support, accelerate the construction of 5G network in Sanmenxia and the development of basic network and 5G application integration. It would facilitate the construction of new smart cities and industrial ecology, help enterprises to transform and upgrade and promote the modernization of urban governance as well.
