On March 26th, a preparatory meeting for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Yangshao culture and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Chinese archaeology was held to mobilize the whole city to do all the preparations and strive to make the two "100th anniversary" activities a cultural exchange event that can be influential in the whole country and even the world. An Wei, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and mayor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Niu Lanying, member of the standing committee of Sanmenxia Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department, presided over the meeting. Deputy mayor Qing Zhiying, member of the municipal government party group as well as secretary general Guo Zhongyi attended the meeting.

An Wei pointed out that the two "100th Anniversary" commemorative activity is a national brand name activity with high standard and great influence. Running this commemorative event is an important carrier to carry forward the cultural treasures of Yangshao and enhance the self-confidence of Chinese civilization. It is the specific action that implement the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. This event is also an important channel for Sanmenxia to open wider to the outside, strengthen its cultural vitality, and build an inter-provincial regional central city, which is of great significance for promoting the city's economic and social transformation and high-quality development. We must unify our thinking and enhance our sense of urgency, responsibility and mission. With firm determination, we will do our best to do all the preparatory work to ensure that the commemorative event is foolproof.

An Wei emphasized that all the efforts should be made to highlight the key points, clarify the tasks in order to push the preparation jobs of the two “100th anniversary” commemorative activities. He said great importance should be attached to the high-quality construction of key projects so as to make the commemorative event become a brilliant activity to display the image of Sanmenxia. The focus should be on academic and cultural exchanges to promote the local Yangshao cultural research to achieve new breakthroughs, actively foster the construction of the Yangshao Cultural International Research Center so as to strengthen the cultural exchanges and cooperation along the Yellow River and strive to make the commemorative activity a cultural blending event. Great importance should also be attached to high-level planning, all-round invitation and the invitation of distinguished guests so as to smoothly carry out the thematic activities and strive to make the commemorative activity a grand gathering of guests. The focus should also be on external publicity and promotion to strengthen the international publicity and its carrier so as to make the commemorative activity a grand event with great popularity at home and abroad.

An Wei also streeesed that it is necessary to strengthen the leadership in order to form a joint force, clarify the division of responsibilities and implement the work well, so as to ensure the two "100th anniversary" commemorations going smoothly with high-standard and high-efficiency. New contributions will be made to creating the new Chinese civilization inheritance innovation zone and building the inter-provincial regional central city.
